A handful of parents in Montgomery County plan to file suit attempting to remove the book from all public school libraries on the grounds that it promotes witchcraft.  J.K. Rowling’s books about a boy wizard, Harry Potter, continue to top the American Library Association’s annual most-banned books list with over 400 attempts to ban the novel in 2006.

The towns policy on removing books from shelves is very simple. Only one person needst to challenge a book for it to be removed because of religious, social, sexual or ethical grounds.  Apparently, they can also challenge a legitimate work of literature on the basis of “promoting witchcraft.”
