THEME PARK PAGE!

The Orlando Sentinel has reported the time frame for the opening of the “The Wizarding World of Harry Potter” Theme Park. The time they say is in or about December 15, 2009 but may occur as late as June 30, 2010.

I am going to start a page about the Theme Park soon, so stay tuned for that.

Q: Are there any thrill rides in the theme park, such as rollercoasters, dedicated to any of the characters? A: Yes, there will be thrill rides, there will be very intense thrill rides, there will be immersive, engaging rides that are filled with story and fantasy, and there will be lots of opportunity for people to get different entertainment experiences that are based on characters. SC: I think it’s very important that the theme park represents the entire saga, from book 1 to book 7. It needs to feel complete, and it will feel complete.

Thanks to HPANA we know that Warner Bros. has officially confirmed the building of an entire “theme park in a theme park” based on the world of Harry Potter, to open at Universal Orlando Resort in early 2010.

UPDATES:

• Official web site coming very soon.
• JK Rowling involved since the very beginning. She has reviewed their plans and been supportive.
• Fan input will be encouraged.
• Specific designs have been ongoing since early this year.
• Park will be aimed at a target audience of ages “7 to 67”.
• “British sensibility” will be obvious in food that is served, how staff interacts with visitors.
• Common Room, Dark Arts classroom, Hogwarts Castle itself, Hogsmeade village to be included.
