Wizarding World News Coming Soon!
Posted by Megs

Well if you visit other Harry Potter sites, which I’m sure you all do 😉 , you will know that some of the other big sites were invited to Florida for an announcement about the Wizarding World of Harry Potter!  I am in class a lot today, but I will be posting the news as soon as a get a moment! (well once they release it that is)

Too bad I wasn’t invited, but I would have had to miss a few days of classes, it would have been worth it though…oh well…maybe next time.

I’ve been wondering about this lately!

Attractions Magazine has a new article online today, containing some interesting names and trademarked registered by Warner Bros for possible use at the Wizarding World of Harry Potter.  In the past WB has registered a host of names that were never intended to be used for such things as titles of the Harry Potter novels so these could just be decoys!

  • “Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey” is filed under “Entertainment services in the nature of an amusement park ride.”
  • “Flight of the Hippogriff” and “Dragon Challenge,” are likely going to be the new names for the existing Flying Unicorn and Dueling Dragons rides.
  • “Owl Post” and “Dervish and Banges” are categorized as retail stores.
  • “Hogsmeade Village” is listed as “Entertainment services in the nature of an amusement park attraction, namely, a themed area.”
  • “Magic Neep” is categorized under “Restaurant services, namely, providing of food and beverages for consumption.”

Wizarding World details
Posted by Megs

The Orlando Sentinel has posted a new article with details on the Wizarding World of Harry Potter theme park.

“People are expecting to immerse themselves in the whole Harry Potter universe,” Niles said. “Really, a lot more than other attractions, people are going to be paying a lot of attention to the theming, the attention to detail and the atmosphere of the place, more so than the rides.”
Plans for the 20-acre Wizarding World show more than a dozen buildings, including at least three shops, a restaurant and multiple forced-perspective decorative buildings. The centerpiece will be the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, the iconic castle and keep from the Potter books and movies.
