Rob Pattinson, who played Cedric Diggory in the Harry Potter films is set to be in a new film. He has been cast in a new role for the film adaptation of the first book in Stephenie Meyer’s series, “Twilight.” It was announced today with press release on the author’s site (PDF download here) that Rob will playing Edward Cullen. Stephenie Meyer has said this on her website about the announcement:

I am ecstatic with Summit’s choice for Edward. There are very few actors who can look both dangerous and beautiful at the same time, and even fewer who I can picture in my head as Edward. Robert Pattinson is going to be amazing.

I just got home tonight to spend a long weekend here and I had 2 AWESOME fan mail replies waiting for me! The first was from Robert Pattinson, who plays Cedric. He signed the picture I sent him and sent another one of his own and wrote my name on them. And if that wasn’t exciting enough, the other was from Natalia Tena, who plays Tonks, she sent me back the picture I had her sign and wrote me a letter!

Robert Pattinson who played Cedric Diggory in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire will be in a movie about painter Salvador Dali.

The 21-year-old British-born actor is set to star in a “racy” and “sexy” movie about the supposedly gay affairs of Spanish artist Salvador Dali. The film, named Little Ashes after one of Dali’s paintings, is being directed by Paul Morrison, whose credits include the 2000 Oscar nominee, Solomon and Gaenor

Rob Pattinson has recently finished filming a new movie called “How To Be“. It is scheduled for release on July 12, 2008! Here is part of the synopsis:

Imagine a twenty-something, financially and emotionally dependent on his parents. You probably already know one. How To Be is an offbeat coming-of-age comedy about one such young man. ARTHUR (Rob), a frustrated musician, is undergoing something of a quarter-life crisis — but with the help of an eccentric life coach he confronts his dysfunctional relationships with his family and friends and starts to get an idea of how to be.

The film begins as Arthur is dumped by his girlfriend, JESSICA, and is forced to move back in with his middle class parents, who are far from thrilled with the idea.
