Sophie Thompson spoke about shooting chase scenes for Deathly Hallows. Sophie plays Mafalda Hopkirk, who Hermione Granger turns into in the film.
“We did a few days a couple of weeks ago… we were running away from these dementors, which Harry Potter people will know are these horrible creatures that suck out your very soul and they had to slow me down.
“I was in my high heels and everything because I’m playing this little secretary character … but I was running down the corridor, and they said: ‘Soph, you’re going too fast! Nobody can keep up!'”
In a new interview with Fandango, Jason Isaacs discusses the final two Harry Potter films! Most of the interview was stuff we read already, but here is some new stuff:
“There is nothing greater than sitting around on a ‘Harry Potter’ set when you’re not filming and listening to the likes of Maggie Smith, Michael Gambon, Bill Nighy, and Jim Broadbent tell stories,” Isaacs said. “And watching everybody chew the scenery up in the few moments you get on screen, trying to out-ham each other, is magnificent. This big franchise goes out in an epic way.”

Speaking of rollercoasters, Isaacs is less than enthusiastic about the idea of a ride inspired by his character at the “Potter” theme park. “Do you really want to go on a Lucius Malfoy ride?” he wondered. “The carriages would fly off or something.”
In a new interview with The Yorkshire Post Chris Rankin talks about the Leeds Film Festival and mentions he will finish filming Deathly Hallows in May.
Chris, 26, told the YEP: “I’ve had a fantastic time and the costumes I’ve seen have been superb. The fans are so passionate and grandparents are here with their grandchildren, enjoying the films as a family, which is fantastic to see.
“The Hyde Park Picture House is a perfect location because it’s like the cinema which time forgot. There’s a real sense of magic here, which makes it a great place to watch something magical like Harry Potter.”
Chris added: “I finish filming mid-May so there’s not long to go. It will be strange and very sad to say goodbye.”
You can also see a new photo of Matt and Chris at the festival at the Lewis Lovers galleries!!
Screenstar has a new interview with Rhys Ifans where he talks about Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.
“This is the first film that I’ve ever done that I’m not really allowed to talk about. But it’s great. I play Luna Lovegood’s (Evanna Lynch) father (and editor of the Quibbler), Xenophilius Lovegood. And it was a thrill.”
“When you’re an English actor and you get the call from Harry Potter, that is like getting your stripes. It was great. You end up on set and there’s all these actors that you’ve worked with before or crossed paths with. So we’d all be sitting there in our chairs eating our soggy English sandwiches, pumping it up, dressed up like wizards. It was a pleasantly surreal experience.”
“She’s [Evanna] amazing,” he said. “If there’s a question on set — and they have a plethora of researchers and people who’ve read the books — but if anyone needs to know ANY miniscule detail about anything that has happened in any Harry Potter novel from start to finish, they ask her. She knows it all. So it was quite intimidating. I was working with this expert in Harry Potter. But she was a joy to work with. All of them, all of the kids or whatever you call them, it was just a great couple of weeks.”
In more Deathly Hallows news, once again thanks to HP4U we know that, “the main unit Potter gang will be on a 5 week hiatus from 16th April – 21st May.” So this means no filming for a a few weeks and then back to filming until sometime in June when filming will be totally completed.
Just as I promised, thanks to my friend Kevin at HP4U, where I am also a staffer, we have some fun Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows news! We have a few awesome new photos; one of Malfoy Manor, inside the Hogwarts Express (“but not THE Hogwarts Express, this is a special version, built within the studios and used for some ‘extra’ special shots in the forthcoming Deathly Hallows.”), and Luna’s house!
