Empire has updated their website with videos from their 2010 Empire Awards so we now have a video of Rupert presenting the best Sci-Fi/Fantasy Movie award!
In a new interview with MTV David Heyman has discussed Deathly Hallows being in 3D!
MTV: When did you make the decision to do the two parts of “Deathly Hallows” in 3-D? David Heyman: I think that it emerged organically. Clearly, the success of 3-D movies has had an impact on the economy and making of films. We saw an opportunity and grabbed it. Also, “Harry Potter” itself has so many exciting possibilities for 3-D, both in things coming at you and also just in making that world seem even more epic than it already is. “Harry Potter” is already an epic film, but having that added dimension will make it even more epic, and that seemed like an opportunity that was too hard to pass up. Though we didn’t shoot it in 3-D, the quality of post-3-D has improved remarkably in the last year or two, so we felt very comfortable with that process.
MTV: Is there one scene in particular that you think is going to be especially great in 3-D? Heyman: One of the things I really loved about watching James Cameron’s approach to 3-D in “Avatar” was that it wasn’t about things coming out at you all the time. It was actually about adding great depth. You wouldn’t want to overuse stuff coming at you. We haven’t begun the process of converting it yet. We are doing some tests and looking at various things, but we aren’t done with any sequence yet. I am obviously looking forward to some of the battle sequences in the second part. I am also looking forward to seeing the dragon flying up. I think there’s a lot that will be great in 3-D, but to me, where it’s really most exciting is just making that world seem much deeper, richer and what that extra dimension gives you.
MTV: Now that you’re going to do “Deathly Hallows” in 3-D, have you given any thought to re-releasing some of the other “Potter” films in 3-D? Heyman: Those discussions haven’t yet happened, but I’m sure it’s just a matter of time. You know what? I actually shouldn’t say that. Who knows? It would be great. You can never tell. I hope so.
According the the Empire Awards Live Blog Rupert Grint has arrived at the venue! He is apparently going to present an award. There is also a photo of him from Twitter.

About: The Harry Potter 20 Questions game is pretty simple; its just like a normal 20Q ball, you try to stump it by thinking of something in the Potter world. What makes this so great is that they let fans test it out online months before it was released so this product really knows everything there is to know about the Potterverse. I have only stumped it a few times, it got radish earrings for goodness sake!
Design: This product is pretty creative; it is in the shape of a snitch, complete with wings & a stand. What’s great about it is that when you want to play with it you can remove the wings so they don’t get in your way. A must buy for any Potter Nerd!
Value: This is a great product for a collector on a budget, you get unlimited entertainment for under $20. The value has gone down since it was first introduced so you can probably find it for around $10. To get more bang for your buck, get two: one to play with & keep the other in the package, it could be worth a lot of money one day!
Thanks to Matt Lewis we have learned that Harry Potter filming at Pinewood Studios has completed, this does not mean that filming is complete, there is more to film at Leavesden Studios.
It’s the last Harry Potter shooting day at Pinewood Studios today. Mr Stephen Woolfenden, our brilliant 2nd Unit director wants you to know!
We just did a shot that we had to get in one take; pretty nerve-wracking. Lucky for me, the crew did a top job! Back to Leavesden on Sunday!
Just to avoid confusion. It’s the last day at Pinewood Studios. We’ve got loads more to do back at base; Leavesden Studios. Tally ho.
My friends over at HP4U are reporting that Michael Gambon has finished filming Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. They know their stuff so it’s safe to assume it is true.
Thursday last week (18th March) officially marked the final day of filming for Sir Michael Gambon in this, his 6th Harry Potter film
They have also posted an exclusive photo of a destroyed Hogwarts and will be posting a high resolution version soon so stay tuned because they will be sending some photos for us to post as well; so you will see those here first (or there if they post them before us)!!
