Ministry of Magic scenes to be filmed in December
Posted by Megs

In a new interview with Steffan Rhodhi, who will be playing Reg Cattermole in Deathly Hallows, the actor discusses when he will be filming for the movie.

Then he will move into a London studio to film his scenes for Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows: Part I. His character is from the Magical Maintenance Department and his identity is borrowed by Ron Weasley.
Steffan, who has a role in the new Harry Potter movie which he begins filming next month, is now best known for playing Dave – even though his agent advised him against the role.

“My agent said ‘you can’t just keep doing every small part – they will think of you as a bit-part actor.’
Steffan is playing Reg Cattermole in the new Harry Potter film and he thinks his two teenage children are “secretly chuffed” with his new role.

“I think they are a bit fed up now of friends coming up to them and going, ‘What’s occurrin’” he laughs, referring to Dave Coaches’ catchphrase.

Thanks SS!

Reelz Channel: Fan Sites Discuss movie changes
Posted by Megs

I recently took part in a fan site survey with Reelz Channel about how we think the changes made to Half-Blood Prince will affect Deathly Hallows, they have now posted the article online.  “We surveyed top Harry Potter fansites to see which of the following movie changes they believed was most significant for the Deathly Hallows movies, as well as how they thought/hoped David Yates would deal with those changes.” Here is what I had to say:

1) Burrow burning down
This part in the movie really confused me because I wondered how they would deal with Bill and Fleur’s wedding in Deathly Hallows since they get married at the Burrow and that is where Harry and everyone else meet after the Seven Potter’s scene. I guess they could just have the house rebuilt but still show some of the damages. I am very interested in seeing how things will work out in regards to this.

2) Total absence of Bill and Fleur
Well, we obviously know that Bill and Fleur’s wedding will be in Deathly Hallows since we have seen filming photos and heard about the gorgeous costumes. I’m not really sure how David will handle this, I think he will just assume people know what is going on. Fans who haven’t read the books will catch on soon enough when they see what happens.

3) Omission of big fight scene at Hogwarts
I don’t think that leaving this scene out was too big of a deal, though many fans will disagree with me. But David made a good point in an interview by saying there will be plenty of fighting and battles in Deathly Hallows so it was alright to leave that battle out. We still got the general idea of what went on by the way they did it in the film.

4) Harry not seeing/getting details of Tom Riddle’s ancestry (Gaunts/Peverells)
This was pretty much my only problem with the Half-Blood Prince movie in regards to cutting scenes. Normally I am pretty open about cuts since I view the movies as separate from the books, as the movies are just based on them. The Tom Riddle memories were my favorite parts of the book because you got to learn about Voldemort and how he became the way he is now. I hope that David somehow pulls these into the movie since they have the two parts they might be able to spare a few moments so we can learn about the Gaunts. As for the Peverells, we should learn about them when Hermione is talking about Beedle the Bard and we go to Godric’s Hollow with her and Harry.

5) No mention of Voldemort tracking down items from Hogwarts’ founders for horcruxes.
I think this can easily be rectified with a simple flashback scene where Dumbledore and Harry are talking. It would only take a minute or two to show and then the audience will be all caught up. So I’m not to worried about this part of the plot.
