Birmingham Mail is reporting that Julie Walters will be getting her own spot on Birmingham’s Walk of Stars!  Julie plays Mrs. Weasley in the Harry Potter films and also starred alongside Rupert Grint in Driving Lessons.

She will be given the star by Lord Mayor Coun Michael Wilkes later this month.  Today, Julie said: “I am honoured to be given a star on the Walk of Stars.”  Set to turn 60 next February, convent-educated Julie was born in Smethwick and originally set out to be a nurse, before going to Manchester to study drama on the road to becoming a television and film star of international repute.

Julie has a daughter, Maisie, by husband Grant Roffey with whom she lives on a farm in West Sussex. She will be given the award on Tuesday, October 27.  During the visit, Julie will be taking part in a Q&A at the Birmingham Rep theatre at 2pm
