Warner Bros have announced today that there is a pop-up Harry Potter store at Harrods in London! It is open from today until January 2012 and contains ton of Harry Potter products and memorabilia.

Located on the 3rd floor of the store, The Harry Potter Shop at Harrods covers over 4,000 square feet and offers fans and holiday shoppers the opportunity to select from a huge range of Harry Potter products. The product range includes prop replicas and collectibles from The Noble Collection and Tonner Doll; toys and games from LEGO, TOMY, Hasbro, Winning Moves, and She Who Dares; a collection of wizard costumes from Rubies; and the LEGO Harry Potter video games. “Harry Potter™ : The Complete 8-Film Collection” in the Limited Edition Elder Wand Chest, which is only available in the UK at Harrods, starting 2 December 2011, will retail for £199 and contains the complete Harry Potter film collection on 11 Blu-ray™ discs.

Game pods are set up in-store to allow fans to play LEGO Harry Potter: Years 1-4, as well as LEGO Harry Potter: Years 5-7, upon its release on 18 November 2011. Sony also has their latest 3D technology on display so fans can watch Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows™ – Part 1 and, after its release on 2 December, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows™ – Part 2 in 3D. Finally, Warner Bros. Studio Tour London – The Making of Harry Potter has set up a special installation where visitors can take their photo at the Great Hall and get a sneak peek of what to expect when the UK’s newest attraction opens on 31 March 2012.

You can pre-order the movie at the following links.  Make sure you get your copies before December 2011, because as I posted a few months ago WB will stop shipping out all of the Potter DVDs in December so you will no longer be able to purchase physical copies (until they do a re-release a la Disney)

‘Hogwarts Express’ to be Used as Shuttle for National Rail Museum
Posted by Megs

The National Rail Museum has announced that it will be using the Olton Hall, known to Potter fans as the Hogwarts Express, as a shuttle between it’s two museums [The National Rail Museum and Locomotion] for the next two weekends.

Olton Hall, which featured in the Harry Potter films as the Hogwarts Express, along with No. 70013 Oliver Cromwell, which pulled British Rail’s last steam-hauled train in 1968, will be used for the shuttle services that start this weekend and continue on September 24 and 25. While Olton Hall has been a regular visitor to the NRM in York, the locomotive has only appeared in fully operational steam on a handful of occasions.

The NRM’s head of knowledge and collections, Helen Ashby, said: “We’re delighted to finally announce the names of the two steam locomotives expected to haul our September shuttles, especially as both are railway icons in their own right. The shuttles provide a rare opportunity for members of the public to ride on an operational steam locomotive and take advantage of two museums dedicated to railways at either end of the line. It seems only fitting that such big names in steam take centre stage at this milestone event in the history of the two museums.”
