The stars of my favorite new series, Merlin (YAY!), recently talked a bit about Harry Potter, in who would win in a fight, Merlin or Harry Potter. Of course Colin, who plays Merlin, says Merlin, and I think I may have to agree ;). There are spoilers for the first season of Merlin in this clip so just skip to the part where they talk about Harry Potter if you don’t want to be spoiled! The Harry Potter bit starts at 3:24, enjoy!
There is a new article online that tells us that Daily Prophet style magazines may be coming sooner than we think!
The first-ever video advertisement will be published in a traditional paper magazine in September. The video-in-print ads will appear in select copies of the US show business title Entertainment Weekly. The slim-line screens – around the size of a mobile phone display – also have rechargeable batteries. The chip technology used to store the video – described as similar to that used in singing greeting cards – is activated when the page is turned. Each chip can hold up to 40 minutes of video. The first clips will preview programmes from US TV network CBS and show adverts by the drinks company Pepsi. They will appear in 18 September editions of the magazine distributed in Los Angeles and New York.
Harry Potter: The Exhibition, which will run in Chicago through September 7, 2009, will include elaborate displays of artifacts and props from popular environments featured in the films, such as those from Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, including the Gryffindor common room and Hagrid’s hut.

Thanks to Shoshana for emailing me about a new movie about the HP fandom. She says: “‘We are Wizards’ is an insiders look on the Harry Potter fandom, highlighting some of the people who are major figures in the Harry Potter community as well as just a general overview of the community the series has created.” It is a documentary by Josh Koury and it Opens in NYC at the Cinema Village on November 14, 2008.
