Infographic: How Much Would The Burrow Cost?
Posted by Megs

Movoto, a real estate blog has calculated how much Ron Weasley’s home, The Burrow, would cost in today’s market! Natalie, the author of the post, figured that the Burrow is worth approximately $660,150, £105,336 or 89,816 Galleons! According to her:

The Burrow, at just 1,467 square feet, would cost you a mere $660,150 (£105,336). Since the real-world Muggle house in Ottery St. Mary that I used to come up with the price per square foot actually does come with surrounding property very similar to the Burrow’s (the gardens, the land, even the detached garage), this price for the Burrow would get you the house and the surrounding property—though, I can’t guarantee any gnomes, chickens, or a ghoul in the attic. You’ll probably have to pay a bit more for those.

The hit off-Broadway show Potted Potter: The Unauthorized Harry Experience – A Parody by Dan and Jeff returns for a 13 week engagement to off-Broadway’s Little Shubert Theatre (422 West 42nd Street) following a hugely successful North American tour.

Performances begin Thursday, May 30th and officially opens on Tuesday, June 4th. This is a limited engagement through Sunday, September 1st, 2013.
Potted Potter is written and performed by Daniel Clarkson and Jefferson Turner with direction by Richard Hurst. The creative team includes Simon Scullion (Sets), Tim Mascall (Lighting), Phil Innes (Music), Richard Hurst (additional material) and Hanna Berrigan (Associate Director).

In addition to being a critic’s pick by the New York Times, New York Magazine and Time Out London, the show received the prestigious 2012 Olivier Award nomination for Best Entertainment & Family Show, playing to sold out houses worldwide.

Corey Ross, president of Starvox Entertainment said “After a wildly successful extended run at New York’s Little Shubert Theater last season, an incredibly successful national tour and an ongoing production in London, we are so excited to return to NYC where we were so warmly welcomed last year. Potted Potter is a wonderfully entertaining time for all ages, both fans and neophytes of the Harry Potter phenomenon alike.”

Written and performed by former BBC Television hosts Daniel Clarkson and Jefferson Turner, the play takes on the ultimate challenge of condensing, or “potting” all seven Harry Potter books into 70 madcap minutes, aided only by multiple costume changes, brilliant songs, ridiculous props and a generous helping of Hogwarts magic. The show also invites audiences to engage with a real life game of Quidditch, according to Clarkson and Turner’s unique set of rules.

Whether you camped outside a bookstore for three days awaiting the release of the Deathly Hallows or you don’t know the difference between a Horcrux and a Hufflepuff, the comedy, magic and mayhem of Potted Potter makes for an entertaining and hilarious visit to the theatre. The fast-paced show, which has made audiences aged six to Dumbledore (who is very old indeed) roar with laughter all over the world, is perfect for the entire family.

Photos & Report: Wonderbook of Spells Launch Party
Posted by Megs

As most of you will know, PlayStation is coming out with a brand new game for the PS3 called Wonderbook: Book of Spells, which will be released on November 13th. The game will be available as a bundle including the Book of Spells game, Wonderbook peripheral, PlayStation Eye camera and a PlayStation Move motion controller for $79.99. If fans wish to purchase only the game it will cost $39.99.

Yesterday our UK correspondent Patrick was lucky enough to attend the PlayStation Wonderbook: Book of Spells launch party in London.  He has written up a report and sent over a few photos from the festivities which may be seen in the gallery!

The latest venture in the world of Harry Potter gaming is ‘Wonderbook’s Book of Spells’, and I was luckily enough to be invited along to the launch party for the game, on behalf of Magical Menagerie.

Along with a friend I headed down to the Freemason’s Hall in Covent Garden, which in its self is an impressive enough building, not at all out of step with the Gringotts we all know and love. But it was what the team behind the event had done inside that made the day all the more exciting!

Greeted by a fur wearing Warlock the kids lucky enough to been invited where led through the grand doors and into the smokey, colourfully lit marble halls. To the right was the chance to be photographed with an owl, above an awe-inspiring dragon and straight ahead a quick demo of how the new gamed worked, after which we were then all ushered upstairs to a space full of witches and wizards with riddles to solve, a traditional sweet shop selling everything from liquorish wands, and cupcakes to sherbet lemons! And finally there were corners where everyone got a chance to have a go of the new Playstation Game, with experienced gamers on hand to help out where ever they could. By the use of the PS3 Move System and the Wonderbook, the children were able to learn basic spells, such as Incendio, Wingardium Leviosa, Expelliarmus, and Engorgio. Not all learn them, but get a chance to see themselves on screen with no longer a controller in their hand, but a wand, emitting light as they moved it over the book.

The event seemed to be a roaring success, with children with painted faces smiling brightly as they ran from one exciting task to the next! They even put me, a 21 year old to shame, by being far superior at the Book of Spells game than I, who struggled with even the simplest of spells! With adult beverages as well as juice and smoothies for the younger ones, it was a day everyone could enjoy!

Look out for a review of the game in the coming weeks, and a big thank you to Charlie and his team at John Doe PR for having us along.
