The first clip from Tim Burton’s upcoming movie Alice in Wonderland has been released online! The clip shows The Red Queen (Helena Bonham Carter) meeting Alice for the first time. Also in the film are Potter stars Alan Rickman (the Caterpillar), Timothy Spall (the Bloodhound), Frances de la Tour (Aunt Imogene), Paul Whitehouse (The March Hare) and Stephen Fry (Cheshire Cat).
The film will be released on March 5th, who else is as excited as I am?!
Helena Bonham Carter will be at the Hollywood & Highland Center central courtyard in Hollywood tonight to promote Disney’s upcoming movie Alice in Wonderland. Director Tim Burton, Mia Wasikowska (Alice), Anne Hathaway (White Queen), Crispin Glover (Knave of Hearts), Matt Lucas (Tweedles) and Michael Sheen (White Rabbit) will also be in attendance! Sure, everyone loves a bad(ish) boy, but Rickman’s rogues’ gallery is united by the fact that they’re all strangely, unjustifiably sexy. Yes, even greasy-haired Snape. And as for his good guys, they’re pretty irresistible.

A recent addition to “Sexiest” lists everywhere, Robert Pattinson and his messy mane have won hearts all over the world with his turn as veggie vampire Edward Cullen in the Twilight Saga. Those over 25 may roll their eyes, but the combination of plum roles in hit novels (see also: Cedric Diggory in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire), a posh accent, musical ability and that enormous haystack on his head means half the teenage world adores him.
In a recent interview about her new made for TV movie, Helena Bonham Carter mentions Harry Potter filming:
“Acting is so boring half the time because you’re waiting for everybody else – I worked on Harry Potter afterwards and it was like going from one end of the spectrum to the other. It’s not an entirely selfish process because everyone else has to do their work too, so you have to wait. You just have to wait and so much of acting is momentum. I really love doing Harry Potter, but there’s half an hour between each take and there’s a cocktail party and then you can’t remember what you did in the last one so there’s nothing to build on.
“But then Enid was a speedy person, speed is her essence and her life was an interruption to that novel, she was ruled by the watch, she always had to get back to that novel. And as so many creative people are, she wasn’t actually present, she was off in that other world and so speedy, she was an engine. And in fact that helped me.”
It has recently been announced that Helena Bonham Carter will be playing children’s author Enid Blyton in a new series on the BBC4. The series is a set of biopics about extraordinary women and Helena will give a look into to Enid’s private life behind her books. Here is a trailer:
