Jessie Cave Opens PinDippy Store; Starring in Great Expectations
Posted by Megs

Jessie Cave, best known for playing Ron’s 6th year girlfriend Lavender Brown, has opened up an online store to go along with her popular website, Pindippy. The store sells various tops, stickers and bags designed by Jessie herself [they are often seen in her self made videos]! According to the press release we were sent;

Jessie said: “I feel strongly that T-shirts are generally unflattering on girls and so decided to sell ‘off-shoots’ of T-shirts in the form of long vests, long sleeved and cropped oversized. Hopefully the designs will make people look twice and I would like to make sure that girls feel confident with ‘Ways to Wear’ to maximise their T-shirt appreciation and satisfaction. Pindippy is about being proud to be a bit different, and I really want the store to embody this. ”

All of the clothing worn in the videos on PinDippy are Jessie’s own, and she was encouraged to open a shop of her own after fans showed enthusiasm and requested to get hold of similar items.

On the launch, Jessie said: “People have been so lovely about my clothes and the styling for the videos, but when I am asked where I get the clothes from it is usually vintage or something I have made. I like the way clothes can change my mood for the day. I thought it would be nice if people who have been very kind about my dress sense could wear the same, something I made.”

Also, since I haven’t mentioned this yet, Jessie will be starring in Goblet of Fire director Mike Newell’s version of Great Expectations along with Potter co-stars Helena Bonham Carter (Bellatrix), Ralph Fiennes (Voldemort) and Robbie Coltrane (Hagrid)! The movie will be released in 2012.

Helena Bonham Carter Talks Deathly Hallows Fight Scene
Posted by Megs

In a new interview, Helena Bonham Carter talks about her fight scene in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part II. If you don’t want any spoilers for the book, I suggest you stop reading now:

The actress, who plays evil witch Bellatrix Lesrange in the film series, fought against Julie Walters’ character Molly Weasley so hard in their pivotal final moments, they were both aching afterward. She said: “You should warm up before sword fighting, that’s what Julie and I found out when we were duelling with each other. We were crippled after that scene! Duelling going backward on a table is tricky, without falling off. Which, of course, I did!”

The duel was a source of amusement for the film’s cast and crew too, especially because they were watching the two characters go from being friends to mortal enemies every time the cameras rolled. Mark Williams, who plays Arthur Weasley, told Empire magazine: “They could’ve sold tickets for filming that scene. They were chatting one minute and cutting each other to bits the next. It was brilliant!”

This is a snippet from her interview in Empire magazine, make sure to pick up your issue today!

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Shut Out at the Oscars
Posted by Megs

As most of you know, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part I was nominated for 2 Academy Awards.  The awards were given out tonight and the first award to be presented was Art Direction.  Deathly Hallows lost the award to Alice in Wonderland. Helena Bonham Carter was also nominated for Best Supporting actress and she lost to Melissa Leo from The Fighter. Next up was Best Original Score where Alexandre Desplat was nominated.  Unfortunately he lost to The Social Network. Finally, the film was also nominated for Visual Effects and lost to Inception.

They also showed a mix of movies where they turned certain parts into songs and Deathly Hallows was one of those featured. If a video makes its way online I’ll be sure to post it.

But don’t lose hope everyone! Deathly Hallows: Part II can always pull a Lord of the Rings: Return of the King and be nominated for 11 awards and win them all!
