Emma Watson In Early Talks for ‘Cinderella’
Posted by Megs

Variety is reporting that Emma Watson is in VERY EARLY talks to play the lead role of Cinderella in, you guessed it, Disney’s adaption of Cinderella which is set for release some time in 2014. Kenneth Branagh will be directing the film and, as many fans recall, Kenneth played Gilderoy Lockhart in Chamber of Secrets so this definitely gives Emma an edge.  Cate Blanchett, of Lord of the Rings fame, will play the wicked stepmother.

Fans will also remember that Emma is hoping to play Belle in Guillermo del Toro’s adaption of Beauty and the Beast, if that project ever moves forward.  Both the director and Emma have expressed how excited they are to possibly work together.

Madame Tussauds website has been updated with the exciting news that Emma Watson will be immortalized at Madame Tussauds in London starting this March! One of Britain’s brightest young stars is to be honoured with a wax figure at Madame Tussauds London in March, when Emma Watson joins the A-list line up dressed exclusively for the attraction by Elie Saab.

The accomplished 22 year old actress and fashion muse will be portrayed in a relaxed seated position, enabling fans to sit right alongside her on a luxurious chaise longue. She will wear a stunning ELIE SAAB Haute Couture design donated to Madame Tussauds London by the designer. Watson wowed the crowds when she sported the midnight blue backless full-skirted cocktail dress, embroidered with beads and crystals at a red carpet event in Hong Kong in December 2011. Her hair will be swept back in a casually elegant up ‘do’ and she will compliment the dress with patent navy heals.

“Emma is the perfect addition to the A-list line up here at Madame Tussauds London and is one of the most requested personalities by our guests,” commented PR Manager Nicole Fenner. “She’s a true English rose known and loved by millions of film and fashion fans around the world. We are also very lucky to be working with Elie Saab who is donating the stunning gown Emma will wear. She will feel right at home among a host of other glamorous personalities and we know she will be a huge hit with all our guests!”

Marie Claire and Cosmopolitan Interview Emma Watson; New Lancôme Video
Posted by Megs

Both Marie Claire UK and Cosmopolitan UK have new interviews with Emma Watson in their latest issues.  A scan from Cosmopolitan, where Emma discusses beauty and makeup, may be seen here. (Thanks to SnitchSeeker for the transcription)

Cosmoplitan: Who’s the most beautiful person you’ve ever met?
Emma:
Emma Thompson springs to mind – she’s such a lovely woman. [Singer] Patti Smith is amazing – she seems really youthful but with the wisdom of someone who has been on the earth for a thousand years. And I really respect [director] Sofia Coppola and her artistic sensibilities.

Cosmo: How do you look after those amazing eyebrows?
Emma:
I thread them because you can get more of a natural curve and line than you get with waxing. I go to Blink Brow Bars in London; they’re really great.

Cosmo Any secret beauty sins?
Emma:
I keep an emergency pack of makeup-remover wipes by my bed for when I’m too tired and really don’t want to go through the whole process.

Cosmo: How would you describe your beauty style?
Emma:
Clean and classic. I have quite a small face, so if I start putting on a lot of makeup it’s really noticeable. I’ve had people try to do big, dark smoky eyes on me and it just looks like I’ve been punched in the eye. So I stopped doing that.

In a different vein, Emma discussed life, family, upcoming films and much more with Marie Claire magazine.  Film News, Entertainmentwise and the Belfast Telegraph have posted a few quotes from the article, which is in the February 2013 issue. Some snippets may be read below:

“I was quite cynical about the girl I’m playing [in The Bling Ring]. I think there’s a lot of brainwashing that makes these women believe that if they have a part of that [glitzy] lifestyle, they will be happy,” she told the latest UK edition of Marie Claire. “And then there’s the emptiness – when my character does have material possessions, she realises they’re not really the key to happiness. But our culture’s become so focused on those things – on aesthetics and things that are instant. I don’t think they have much to do with genuine contentment.”She will always value her loved ones and work achievements over anything else. “I have to be careful, because it’s easy enough for me to sit here and say, ‘Oh, all those things don’t equal happiness,’ [and for people to think] ‘That’s fine for you to say, because you have them,’” she replied when asked what makes her happy. “But for me, it’s about finding satisfaction in the work you do; it’s to do with having healthy relationships with the people I care about.”

Emma also spoke about another new movie project, Noah. Shooting on the fantasy drama starring Russell Crowe was delayed due to the devastating damage caused by Hurricane Sandy. “At the time I was thinking, ‘This has a weird, dark irony,’” she mused as she recalled the delay to filming Noah. “I don’t think anyone was expecting it to be as impactful as it was. I was really lucky, I was in an area that wasn’t badly affected. But it’s amazing. We think we have so much control over our lives, and then something like that happens and people realise that there are things that are bigger than us, that are greater than us, that we don’t have control over. It was quite scary.”

“I always have the same New Year’s resolution: to speak French fluently,” she explained in an interview with the latest UK edition of Marie Claire. “I get a huge wave of nostalgia when I come into the Gare du Nord. There’s such an emphasis on culture, art and music? And I’ll do anything for a warm baguette.”

“Friends and family come first and work comes second, that’s just how I live my life. I try to step away from the entertainment industry when I go and study – that gives me more time.” She continued, “I did my third year in Oxford, so that I could be around my family. Ultimately they’re the priority. I don’t put anything above them.” She added: “I think having time to step away and study really, really helps. It helps to give me perspective on things, to be around people who are living their lives in different ways, who have different aspirations. It is a strange thing that I do and it can feel quite unnerving. It’s good to remember that it’s a bit mad.”

Additionally, Lancôme has released a new promotional video, featuring Emma, for their Paris In Love spring 2013 line. Thank you to SnitchSeeker for the tip on the video.
