Bill Nighy Talks Deathly Hallows
Posted by Megs

In a new interview, Billy Nighy talks about his role as Rufus Scrimgeor in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.

“It came about simply because they asked me, finally, to be a wizard – I thought I was going to be the only English actor of a certain age who wasn’t in Harry Potter but now that turns out not to be the case,” he said.  “I know most of the cast, I’ve worked with most of them at some point or another. They were all very generous and it was a really nice job,” he said.

“I am working again with David Yates, who I’ve worked with four times altogether now and I love working with him. And it was nice to see Julie Walters, who I sort of started out with.”

Bill also met stars Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson and Rupert Grint.  “It was great working with Daniel and all the guys and they were very very good fun. They all made me very welcome, because they’ve all been together for years and years and years,” he added.

DH in 3D Press Release
Posted by Megs

Thanks very much to WB for sending over a press release about Deathly Hallows in 3D.  Read the full press release here and a snippet below:

Fellman continued, “We are confident in the constantly evolving 3D technology, and the results for ‘Clash of the Titans’ will be presented onscreen with the highest-quality images available today.  Based on our track record, we know that audiences are embracing the RealD and IMAX experiences, and we see many opportunities on our film slate to provide moviegoers with these great options at the multiplex.”

Jeff Robinov, President, Warner Bros. Picture Group, said, “We’re excited about 3D and look forward to bringing a rich, involving visual experience to audiences around the world.”

Additional titles on Warner Bros. Pictures’ 2010 film slate that will be released in 3D (in addition to 2D) include “Cats & Dogs: The Revenge of Kitty Galore” (July), “Guardians of Ga’Hoole” (September) and “Harry Potter and Deathly Hallows, Part 1” (November).

Posted by Megs

The Hollywood Reporter is reporting Warner Brothers has confirmed its plans to make Deathly Hallows, Part 1 and 2 into 3D films and the HarryPotterFilm Twitter account has also confirmed the news!

“We are experienced and have been successful in the conversion of 2D to 3D going back to such hits as ‘The Polar Express,’ select scenes in ‘Superman Returns’ and the last two Harry Potter films,” Warners domestic distribution boss Dan Fellman said.

The next “Potter” pic — “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 1” — is set to unspool Nov. 19. “Part 2,” set for July 15, 2011, also will be released in 3D, though Warners hasn’t yet acknowledged the latter move.

New Trio Interview
Posted by Megs

France’s One magazine released a new interview with Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint, and Emma Watson from the Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows set.  Here are a few segments of the interview, when there is a large enough scan online I will upload it to the gallery!

Emma Watson
To kiss Rupert in front of cameras will stay the strangest experience for me, since I’ve played in Harry Potter. Him and I was frightened about this scene, and would like to do it quickly. But the hardest is coming … I have to kiss Dan ! It’s a scene where Ron imagine a kiss between Harry and Hermione.”

“We haven’t filmed the epilogue yet, in which we can see the future of Harry, Ron and Hermione 19 years later. At the beginning, producers would like to replace us, but they finally kept us. We will look like 40 years old persons. I’m very impatient to see that !”

Daniel Radcliffe
“In the Deathly Hallows, you’ll see Harry as you never saw him before ! For example, I shot a scene where i’m entirely naked. When I read the script, I thought that I would carry underwears but no ! I’ve already done it for Equus so it wasn’t so difficult. I’m wondering how people will react, even if any things will be hidden in the screen !”

“Recently, we’ve finished a scene in which I had difficulties. It’s the 7 Potter’s scene ! We had to shoot a take where I was a different Harry instead of the other actors. It was fun, but very hard, because sometimes, I forgot who I had to be … That made me crazy !”

Rupert Grint
“We shot a lot of physical scenes. For Daniel, filming was very complicated. But he never complained … When he became sick because of filming conditions, he was ok and he never complained …”

Deathly Hallows in 3D?
Posted by Megs

Empire Online is reporting that Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Parts 1 and 2 will be released in 3D!

Yes, both chunks of Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows will be converted to the format.

[…]

Warners was apparently closed-mouthed when asked to confirm, so until the official announcement this is technically a rumour. But that shoe is expected to drop before the week – and knowing the speed at which these things move in the Internet age, the day – is over.

Each film will cost $5 million to convert and the process will also shove the release date of Titans back a week to 2nd April. The Potter pics are still on course for 19th November of this year and 15th July 2011 respectively.
