Actor Bill Nighy (Davy Jones in Pirates of the Caribbean) has confirmed that he will play a good guy in the Deathly Hallows films. He has not revealed the name of his character.

Bill Nighy has an announcement. “I don’t think I’m allowed to say it but I’m going to be in the next Harry Potter film,” he tells us. “I won’t say which character, but he’s a goodie. I just got the gig.” If you don’t mind us saying, it’s about time, Bill. The rangy actor has been dropping hints for aeons, once complaining that he was “the only British actor who hasn’t been in Harry Potter“. But has he read the books? “Not yet, but I will!” he says. “It’s rather like being in a Shakespeare that way, you know?” Mm.

Bill Nighy, who plays Davy Jones in the Pirates of the Caribbean films, has recently done a new interview where he discusses a possible roll in the Harry Potter films. 

“I joked with him [Yates] that maybe now I wouldn’t be the only actor in England who hadn’t been in ‘Harry Potter.’ ” And yet, he says, with a tone of mock heartbreak, “nobody called.”
It may not be too late. “And now, apparently, he’s doing the next one as well,” Nighy says. “Somebody’s got to talk to him.”
Mr. Yates, are you listening? If you’ve started working on “Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince,” and you still haven’t nailed down the casting of Fenrir Greyback, the werewolf, I’ve got just the man for the job. He doesn’t need the work, but we could all use another one of his nutty experiences.
