Warner Bros. Pictures’ Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix made $12 million from it’s midnight showings.

This amount is way ahead of earnings for first night showings of Transformers, (began it’s first screenings at 8 pm) earning $8.8 million and Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End which brought in $13.2 million its first night (with screenings that started at 6pm).

The fifth movie opened this morning in 4,181 theaters.
