Deathly Hallows Part I on November 19, 2010 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Hogwarts Houses Ravenclaw | Gryffindor | Slytherin | Hufflepuff Welcome to the Hogwarts Houses page! Here you can find information on each of the Houses of Hogwarts; Ravenclaw, Gryffindor, Hufflepuff and Slytherin! Ravenclaw“Wit beyond measure is a man’s greatest treasure”Founder: Rowena Ravenclaw Head: Professor Filius Flitwick Ghost: The Grey Lady Colours: Blue and Bronze Animal: Eagle Values: Cleverness, Wit, Creativity and Beauty Common Room: The Ravenclaw Common Room is in the Ravenclaw Tower, located on the west side of the school. It is said to be a very large, rounded “airier” room, with graceful arched windows, and bronze and blue silks hanging off the walls. The ceiling is also arched, and painted with stars, and the carpet was midnight blue colour. There are tables, chairs, bookshelves and a large white marble statue of Rowena Ravenclaw in the room. “Password”: unlike the other three houses, to enter the common room you do not use a password, but it asks you a question, and you must answer that question correctly to get in. If you answer wrong, then you must wait until someone comes along who guesses it right. Corresponding Element: Air House Relic: The “lost” Diadem of Ravenclaw GryffindorFounder: Godric GryffindorHead: Minerva McGonagall Ghost: Nearly Headless Nick Colours: Scarlet and Gold Animal: Lion Values: Courage and Chivalry Location of Common Room: The Gryffindor Common Room is located in one of the castles highest towers; the entrance is on the seventh floor. The entrance of the room is covered by the painting of the fat lady, who wears a pink dress. She only allows those who give her the correct password into the room. Corresponding Element: Fire House Relic: Sword of Gryffindor, Sorting Hat SlytherinFounder: Salazar SlytherinHead: Horace Slughorn. (Previously Severus Snape) Ghost: The Bloody Baron Colours: Green and Silver Animal: Serpent Values: Ambition, Resourcefulness, Cunningness and Pure Blood Heritage Location of Common Room: The Slytherin Common Room is located under the lake and can be reached through a bare stone wall in the dungeons. It is said to be long and have a dudgeon-like look to it, with low-ceilings, greenish lamps and carved armchairs. Corresponding Element: Water House Relic: Slytherins Locket HufflelpuffFounder: Helga Hufflepuff Head: Pomona Sprout Ghost: The Fat Friar Colours: Yellow and Black Animal: Badger Values: Loyalty and Tolerance and Fair Play Location of Common Room: The Hufflepuff Common rooms are located someone in the basements, underground. The entrance is said to be near the kitchens, behind a still-life painting that you must give the password to to enter. Inside, the common room has yellow hangings and fat armchairs.
