HBP Nominated for People’s Choice Awards
Posted by Megs

Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince has been nominated in the 2010 People’s Choice Awards! It has been nominated in the following categories:

  • Favorite Franchise against Star Trek, Transformers, Twilight and more!
  • Favorite Movie against Star Trek, Twilight, The Hangover and more!
  • Favorite on Screen Team (Dan, Emma and Rupert) against Chris Pine and Zachary Quinto of Star Trek, Ben Stiller & Amy Adams of Night at the Museum and more!

Vote for your favorites here at this link!  The show will be broadcast live on CBS on January 6, 2010.

I must say my votes were torn between Star Trek and Harry Potter, good thing you could vote for multiples in a category!

Potter Stars: 100 Sexiest Movie Stars which
Posted by Megs

Empire Magazine has released their list of 100 Sexiest Movie Stars and a bunch of Harry Potter stars are on the list!  It includes the following:

Girls

9 – Helena Bonham Carter
Mrs. Tim Burton may be in her forties now, but she resolutely refuses to be dragged anywhere near ‘mumsy’. In fact, even when she’s shrieking evilly in the Harry Potter series, or conspiring to turn half of London into tasty pies in Sweeney Todd, Bonham Carter is still possessed of a delightful earthy sexiness.

3 – Emma Watson
The face that launched a thousand extremely dodgy internet countdown clocks has blossomed with adulthood into an extremely poised, porcelain-fine beauty and something of a fashion icon. Not bad for someone who won’t even turn 20 until next April.

Guys

37 – Daniel Radcliffe
He loves cricket, he’s got great taste in music, he’s absolutely minted… what more do you want? A good body? Well he’s got one of them too (did you see Equus? Of course you did). You want more? Well he’s a bloody wizard, and a really good one at that, with a couple of potions that’ll guarantee you fancy him.

24 – Jason Isaacs
Last time we ran a Sexiest poll, repeat voting by a hard core of Isaacs fans threatened to derail the whole thing. This time, he’s in a slightly more sensible position, reflecting both the fact that he’s not a hugely well-known leading man and the fact that he’s devastatingly charming and handsome. Seriously, show us someone who doesn’t fancy him, and we’ll show you a corpse.

8 – Alan Rickman
It’s good to see that here, amid the chiselled cheekbones and perfectly coiffed heads, is a man who’s sexy because he’s smart, sarky and has a fine line in put-downs. Sure, everyone loves a bad(ish) boy, but Rickman’s rogues’ gallery is united by the fact that they’re all strangely, unjustifiably sexy. Yes, even greasy-haired Snape. And as for his good guys, they’re pretty irresistible.

2 – Robert Pattinson
A recent addition to “Sexiest” lists everywhere, Robert Pattinson and his messy mane have won hearts all over the world with his turn as veggie vampire Edward Cullen in the Twilight Saga. Those over 25 may roll their eyes, but the combination of plum roles in hit novels (see also: Cedric Diggory in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire), a posh accent, musical ability and that enormous haystack on his head means half the teenage world adores him.

More on HBP DVD!
Posted by Megs

As I posted last month there are a TON of Special Features on the Half-Blood Prince DVD.  More of the features have been released.

  • Close-Up With The Cast of Harry Potter (trt: 28:30) (Hosts Matthew Lewis (“Neville Longbottom”) and Alfred Enoch (“Dean Thomas”) lead us on an entertaining look at the cast of Harry Potter as they explore their interests away from acting and spend a day on set with the production team.)
    • Editing with Daniel Radcliffe: Daniel and editor Mark Day have a light-hearted conversation about film editing and how to get the right shot for a scene
    • Special Effects with Matthew Lewis, Oliver Phelps and Tom Felton: The guys get a “science lesson” from Special Effects Supervisor John Richardson and technician Matthew Harlow.
    • Owl Training with Jessie Cave: Jessie heads outside for training tips with “hootie” and owl trainer Guillaume Grange.
    • Stunt Training with Rupert Grint: Rupert shows off his thrill for danger with the stunt department.
    • Costume Designs with Evanna Lynch: Evanna shares her jewelry designs with Costume Designer Jany Temime.
    • Art with Bonnie Wright: Bonnie and graphic designer Eduardo Lima show off the fun props, products and set designs.
    • Behind the Camera with James Phelps: In his debut performance in the assistant director department, James actually becomes a crew member on set.
    • Make-Up with Emma Watson: Emma and designer Amanda Knight talk about the biggest challenges on this year’s film.

Thanks Maura!
