Marie Claire has posted a new interview with Bonnie Wright where she discusses the Harry Potter films, fashion and more.
Can you give us any hints about the last film?
So many questions are answered and so many sad and happy things happen. There are a lot of deaths that will be unfortunate. But it’s, I guess for us and for the audience, it’s not only a climax to the film, it’s the climax of all 10 years of these movies. I think we’re all hoping that everyone will be on he edge of their seats. The moral of the whole thing is will good finally be able to trump over evil? So I think it is quite satisfying.
You also played a 35-year-old version of Ginny in the last movie. Was that odd?
It’s really strange because when you get on, you’re looking at yourself in the mirror and it’s you but it’s not you. It was really weird when my parents came on set when I was doing that. They were like, “This is really weird.” I had these thin prosthetics under my eyes to make them baggier and I had a short hair wig.
How has your style evolved in that time?
I think when I was quite younger, I was always quite a tomboy. And when I was a tomboy, my mom always used to be like, “Come on, let’s just put you in a dress, just this once!” And I’d be like, “No, it’s my body and I’ll wear what I want!” So I guess that phrase of mine has kept with me. I’ve never had a stylist and I’ve always chosen my own clothes.
So how would you describe your fashion sensibilities right now?
I feel dressy and I decide to dress up, and other times I’m just wearing medium casual. I like things that make me feel ready for the day. Cuts of clothes and shapes of clothes are really important. When I put something on, and I stand up much straighter that’s when I love to wear clothes.
J.K. Rowling wrote an article for the latest issue of the Writers Guild’s WGAW Written By magazine about her friendship with Harry Potter screenwriter Steve Kloves. A snippet may be read below and the full article may be read here.
The important thing to know is that I had complete confidence in him, from that one meeting in L.A. He’d said enough during those few hours together to convince me that he had a real connection to the characters. As we subsequently agreed during our decade-plus email conversation about the books, when you strip away all of the diversionary magic, the Potter novels boil down to the characters; our relationship with them and theirs with each other.

Actually, I’ve just remembered the only time he did get something wrong, and it was a funny one. We were at a script read-through for Half-Blood Prince at Leavesden, so for once we were side-by-side in the same room. I hadn’t read the very latest draft, so I was hearing it for the first time. When Dumbledore started reminiscing about a beautiful girl he’d known in his youth, I scribbled DUMBLEDORE’S GAY on my script and shoved it sideways to Steve. And we both sat there smirking for a bit.
ABC and ITV has announced the cast of their new television show TITANIC which, obviously, is about the famous sinking ship of the same name. A couple Harry Potter stars have been announced as having parts in the series. Geraldine Somerville, who plays older Lily Potter, will be one of the main stars, though it is not known who yet. Toby Jones, who does the voice of Dobby, will also have a role. Finally, it is rumored that Maggie Smith will also have a role in the series.
Titanic begins filming on Monday, May 9 in Budapest, Hungary, and this four-part miniseries will premiere in simulcast on Global and ABC in spring 2012. According to an article:
April 2012 sees the 100th Anniversary of the sinking of the HMS Titanic. To mark this significant centenary, BAFTA winning producer Nigel Stafford Clark (Bleak House, Warriors, The Way We Live Now) has created Titanic, written by Julian Fellowes, the Oscar winning screenwriter of the hit costume drama Downton Abbey as well as Gosford Park and The Young Victoria. Jon Jones (Going Postal, The Diary of Anne Frank, Northanger Abbey) will direct; Nigel Stafford-Clark and Chris Thompson (Love Actually, No 1 Ladies Detective Agency) serve as the producers for this miniseries.
Titanic is the extraordinary re-telling of that doomed voyage, cleverly weaving action, mystery and romantic plots featuring fictional and historical characters, before coming together in an explosive and unforgettable finale. Titanic will focus on different characters ranging from steerage passengers to upper class guests. Each point of view will culminate in a cliff-hanger as the ship begins to flounder, building to an explosive conclusion which draws together each of the stories. Viewers will be taken on a heart wrenching journey through Titanic’s last hours, as the drama reveals which of the characters they have come to know so well will survive…and who does not.
Produced in association with ITV Studios and Shaw Media who are partnered with Deep Indigo Productions and Lookout Point in the UK, Sienna Films Inc in Canada and Hungary based Mid Atlantic Films to produce this UK-Hungary-Canada co-production.
